Are Flyers For You?

There comes a times to look at every form of advertising and figure out which one is going to be best for your company. I guess saying which one is a tad misleading because you’re going to be using multiple types if you really want to appeal to the largest audience possible, but there are still going to be certain advertising styles that just work better.

Now, here I’m mainly going to be focusing on flyer printing, but I will make a few comments in regards to how you choose your form of advertising. Try to look at all the different aspects based on what your time and budget is going to be. What will the cost of color printing be? Are you going to design it yourself with something like InDesign, or are you going to hire someone else out to take care of it? How long is your message going to be? Can it fit on a postcard or do you need a longer brochure?

Okay, now going off of this, I’m going to try to give some reasons why flyers might be one to consider for you out of all these styles.

First, the cost of printing flyers is relatively cheap when compared to most other forms of advertising. You can get a lot of cheap flyers for the same amount of money it would take to make only a handful of brochures.

Flyers are one of the most cost effective styles of advertising there is out there. For those without a large budget you can easily make a large amount of flyers to hand out to people.

Flyers are also an easy style of advertising to design yourself. They need considerably less experience and require you to fill up only a single page. Any basic design software should be able to work for you, meaning you don’t have to spend a lot of money getting any software you wouldn’t already have.

Something else to consider with flyers is that they’re best for announcing specific sales or specials. An event flyer will give people all of the basic details that they need to know to understand what’s going on and where they need to be.

But then, if you have a longer message, or the event requires someone to know a lot of details, you might consider a brochure instead. You’ll be able to tell people all the things that you need to without having to worry about cramming it into the small confines of the flyer.

Now, I have been mentioning flyers only, but the real goal is to get your mind going on what the strengths of each form of advertising is. It doesn’t matter what form you’re talking about, just try to sit back and decide what the best things about it are and if that particular style of advertising is for you.
